A Letter to My Family

My family and I had the pleasure of working with a very talented photographer for our last family photo session – Mandy Friloux.  Mandy Friloux is a South Louisiana photographer specializing in creative portrait photography. Her specialty is definitely with seniors, but I’m positive she has a great eye for portrait photography too. Family photos can be very distressing for all involved. It takes a lot of patience and work to pull off a great family photo session. I’m happy to report that Mandy did a great job bringing out the best in us. She was very keen on offering advice to help convey different feelings in the images. Who would have known that holding hands conveys an emotion when looking at a picture? My friends, that is what you call art. Mandy Friloux creates art. I feel in love with the pictures so much! It prompted me to write a letter to my family. Possibly some of my words will resonate with you as well.

To My Husband

To my dear husband, thank you for your patience and your continued love. Your amazing smile keeps me going. Your “happy-go-lucky” demeanor is a constant reminder of your love for life. I like to look at it as your unconditional love for me. Either way, it energizes me for my day and my life. Even when I’m down, you seem to remind me of what’s right with me. What more could a woman ask for? I’m grateful to your parents for raising a great man. It’s been my pleasure to see the amazing man you’ve turned into. Thank you for the opportunity.

You will always have my heart. I am your wife and your confidant. Everything I do is somehow for you.

To My Son

To my son, thank you for keeping me on my toes – constantly. I’ve never been much of a spontaneous person, but because of you I’m learning to take chances. The dirty clothes, the rubber boots, and your dirty nose. Well, that belongs to you my son. I expect and love these things about you. I never thought I would have a son, but Sebastian, you are that to me. The infectious kisses and hugs that you randomly share with me – I adore them. I’m super grateful that I can call you my son. Thank you for the opportunity. You will always have my heart.

I am your mom and your confidant. Everything I do is somehow for you.

To my Daughter

To my sweet-loving daughter, you are my very own first-born child. I’m overwhelmed with all the words I could share with you. I feel super-protective of you and everything about you. You’re so innocent and learning your way in this big world. I can’t share everything with you as of now. In time though, I hope my words will help you to blossom into a beautiful woman. For now, I will treasure your sense of style, your intelligence, and independence. One day you will leave your Dad and I and that is okay. Please just let us help you along the way.

I’m super grateful that I can call you my daughter. Thank you for the opportunity. You will always have my heart. I am your mom and your confidant. Everything I do is somehow for you.

To My Children Together

To my children together, you seem like a pair of people that can’t seem to live without each other. You’ve only been together for 2 years! It’s actually funny seeing how you can barely breathe without each other, sleep without each other, play without each other. You two cannot live without each other! And I think that is beautiful! I promise that is what your Dad and I would have wanted. As the years pass, I hope that your love will continue to grow for each other. I hope that you will continue to build each other up. You two are the perfect combination of your Dad and I. Please, always look for ways to help each other. You both deserve unconditional love from each other. I need you two to take care of each other…please.

I’m super grateful that I can call you two my children. Thank you for the opportunity. You will always have my heart. I am your mom and your confidant. Everything I do is somehow for you.

To My Family

With each passing day, I learn more and more about each one of you. In this way, you’re also teaching me my own lessons. Sometimes I loose my patience. Some days I’m feeling discouraged. In all my emotions, you’re right there alongside me. Every day, you teach me to dig deeper for patience, love, and to be kind. Nothing could prepare me more to be apart of this family like you have.  You constantly push me to a better wife, a better mom, and a better woman.

You’ve trusted me with your hearts and your lives. Thank you for this opportunity. You will always have my heart. I am your wife, your mom and your confidant. Everything I do is somehow for you.
