Are you a fan of gallery walls? Check out the clock gallery wall in our living room.
It’s no secret that when you’re a collector, there are certain items that always catch your eye. For me, that’s copper, vintage scales, and clocks. I’ve been collecting clocks since before I got married. They don’t have to work for me to love them. In fact, most of the clocks in my living room don’t work. I mean, who needs a clock when you’ve got a smart phone?! Pft! My clocks are for decoration purposes only and I like them just like that. A small wall in my living room has become home to a few collected clocks. It’s actually a remarkable part of the design in my living room. When people visit for the first time, they always have something to say about my clock gallery wall, including that none of them work.
There are more clocks around my home but this wall holds a strategic amount of my collection. Each one is strategically in it’s spot because it fits perfectly there. Also, each one came from a different place. Each clock has a story. One came from a garage sale, the yellow one came from Hobby Lobby, and another came from Goodwill. One day, my mother in law dropped off the square one to me. She had found it on the side of the road and thought I might like it. Yes, I’ll gladly take it! Once I inspected it I discovered it was an antique Seth Thomas case clock. Seth Thomas antique clocks date back to the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. It’s a true antique and I love that about it! It still has all the working pieces inside of it, and I left it just like that.
One thing that excites me about clocks is the detail. There is normally some kind of design incorporated into them. The design and overall colors make wall clocks unique. For some reason, I like them all. I’m confident I’ve never seen a clock I don’t like. Clocks are just my thing! What more can I say.
This gallery wall is located in the back of my living room. With the way we enter our home, you can always see the clock gallery wall when you walk in. It looks like I worked hard to decorate, but I really didn’t. This wall is just a collection of something I love. I’d encourage you to do the same.
Every home should have at least one collection of something special.
In case you’re in the market to design your own clock gallery wall, here’s a few hand-picked clocks that you might like.
Here is what the other side of the wall looks like. No clocks, but a few antiques, including a red side table I finally finished. The brass lamps were thrifted and I have plans to paint them eventually.
