#thehollidaysmealplan2017 week 7

Every week I share my family’s dinner plans for the week. If nothing in this week’s plan catches your eye, maybe check previous week’s meal plan. This week’s meal plan is live and you don’t want to miss it!

If you follow us on Instagram, you would have seen my IG story which featured me cooking boiled shrimp last week. You’d also know that boiled shrimp is my favorite food, in the whole wide world. After last week, I’m feeling much more confident about boiling seafood. No mistaking the fact that BOILED SHRIMP IS BACK on the menu. Seafood is in season here in Louisiana so it’s prefect timing. The whole family tore it up so I knew it would be back soon. That won’t be happening until the end of the week but I’ll probably share more on Instagram when it’s time. Remember the time my neighbor dropped off extra shrimp at my doorstep? Secretly hoping that happens again otherwise, I may be at his doorstep asking to buy some. Like I said, I love shrimp!

This week will also feature roast. It’s my husband’s favorite. Pork roast was on sale so it fits in nicely with this week’s meal plan. Of course, you need a little starch and veggies to go along with this staple. Mashed potatoes and green beans are the best complements to this meat so that’s what I’ll be cooking alongside it.

There is nothing better than having a family member love what you cook. It’s the best complement.

There will be some additional staples for dinner like chopped steak and red beans and rice. Let’s hope things really are back to “normal” this week along with the meal plan. You just never know!

All that matters is that you keep trying!

Happy meal planning!
