Triple Berry Açaí Smoothie

Make a quick berry smoothie for a healthy breakfast or post-workout snack.

Smoothies are an easy way to get a ton of nutrition into your body. You can enjoy a smoothie for breakfast, a pre or post-workout snack, or as a meal replacement. I normally enjoy mine right after I workout. Almost everyday of the week, I enjoy a smoothie, with some of my favorite ingredients.  This Triple Berry Açaí Smoothie is a great boost of protein to help me recover after I workout. When I workout, My endorphins are already high and once I mix in this high protein smoothie, I feel refreshed.

The best part of a smoothie is what you use as a base. A couple of things are key for a quality smoothie. I use a high-protein, dense nutrient, protein powder, along with a low calorie almond milk. In addition, you can add in flax seed, açaí powder, collagen, and lots of other superfoods. But to create this smoothie, you only need five ingredients – almond milk, protein powder, greek yogurt, açaí powder, and frozen fruit. This recipe is basic but not lacking in taste.

No matter why you’re drinking a smoothie, what you put in it does matter. Always read labels to check sugar content and added sugars/flavoring. I’m not saying a smoothie can be bad for you, but I am saying do your research. Since I make this recipe almost everyday, I know exactly how many calories I’m intaking. This is helpful for meeting my daily wellness goals. I’m still working out almost every day and need healthy nutrition to fuel my body. Do your research and make a smoothie that meets your needs.
